Chris Pierce began studying Chinese martial arts, including animal styles and Tai Chi, in the 1990's. He is a Certified Tai Chi for Arthritis Instructor and a Certified Tai Chi for Arthritis and Falls Prevention Instructor. He has been actively studying Yang Family Tai Chi under Carl Meeks for over ten years and has even attended seminars with Grand Master Yang Jun, the current Yang Family lineage holder. In 2014, Chris attended the week-long International Tai Chi Symposium where he had the opportunity to learn directly from the Grand Masters of the five main Tai Chi families. Chris is excited to bring his years of practice and the learning he has acquired to the life-long wellness community at the UofL Trager Institute. Chris has worked in the Information Technology field for the past 25 years and is currently earning a master's degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville. He hopes to integrate his passions for Tai Chi and Exercise Physiology to help people live better, longer lives.
